Designed in collaboration with Misake Miyake Architects, Flamingo Valley Condominium is conceived as an 'Urban Resort' - a premium residential development where the residents can enjoy a tranquil tropical resort setting in urban city life. The development consists of 5-storey freehold apartment blocks, a total of 393 units of 1 to 4 bedroom apartments and penthouses, with a generous offering of communal facilities.
The existing terrain along Siglap Road a steep slope rising more than 10m from the Lower Deck to the entrance drop-off/Upper Deck. Mostly north-south facing to benefit from prevailing winds, residential blocks are located around the peripheral edge of the site to maximize the internal communal area, creating a ‘valley’ condition. A 12m artificial waterfall is the centrepiece that invigorates and cools the gathering spaces near the pavilions, surrounded by pools and lush greenery. The greenery continues on the roof gardens, stepping up from the lower blocks to the higher ones, providing a “garden view” for the residents at all levels.
The verticality of the interface between the Upper and Lower Decks is expressed by the glass lift leading pedestrians to the Sky Bridge that brings them to the Observation Deck overlooking the valley. The Sky Bridge serves as a wayfinding landmark while giving users an immersive experience, with a spectacular view of the development.
