July 2011 - Lend Lense unveiled its latest suburban mall, Jem, in Singapore recently. Designed by SAA Architects, the developer hopes that Jem will become the heart of the new commercial hub in the west. Due for completion in second quarter of 2013, Jem is set to be the largest suburban mall in Singapore, after Jurong Point and Nex.

Mar 2011 - As part of the HDB's Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS), the sales gallery and showflat was opened for viewing on Feb 25, 2011 and has received an overwhelming response over its sales. Construction for the development has also started.

CET, Paya Lebar

Feb 2011 - SAA won a design competition for the Singapore Workforce Development Agency's Continuing Education and Training (CET) campus at Paya Lebar Central (East). The project is currently in the schematic design stage and is planned for completion in 2013.

Lion City Hotel, Singapore

Jan 2011 - UOL Group successfully acquired Lion City Hotel, a freehold property at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Geylang Road, for S$313 million. SAA has been commissioned to design and deliver the redevelopment of the property, which has a site area of 147,910 square feet.

Thomson Line, Singapore

Jan 2011 - The Land Transport Authority has awarded the contracts for the Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Services for the Proposed Thomson Line (TSL). Together with AECOM Singapore Pte Ltd, SAA won the consultancy for Package C. Construction is due for completion in 2018.

Singapore University of Technology and Design

Jan 2011 - SAA was selected as one of the two finalists for an international design competition for the Singapore University of Technology and Design (Plot B campus housing) in Aug 2010. The design was inspired by the institution's unique concept of grouping students across faculties into modular clusters to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange. This idea is interpreted architecturally into dwelling modules which performs a similar function in the social interaction, within living units as well as the public spaces.

Schools Upgrading

Dec 2010 - SAA completed designs for 4 primary school upgrading projects under the Phase 1 MOE Single Session Primary School scheme. Tenders have been called and construction will commence 1st quarter of 2011.

Canberra Condominium, Singapore

June 2010 - SAA was commissioned to design a condominium at Sembawang /Canberra Drive. The design concept maximises the large central open space to fully capitalise on the natural views of the site.
